Dolce To-Do ~ October

October is here and there is lots to see and do!  With Thanksgiving and Halloween, and all the pumpkin spice in between, this month is full of many dolce experiences.  If you're not sure where to start, just check out the ideas below to help in your planning :)

1. Take a fall road trip ~ With all the beautiful colours of the season, October is the optimal time to take a scenic drive.  Bring along your favourite soundtrack for the perfect ride!

2. Create a fall playlist ~ Speaking of road trip music, you can also make a playlist for the season!  Often times, with the change of season, comes a change of sound in music, as well.  As we surround ourselves with cozy knits, baked goods, and warm glows from the fireplace, we usually feel the desire for more relaxing, and subdued tunes. Go ahead, grab a pumpkin-spice latte, curl up with a blanket, and start saving those favourite songs!

3.Visit a famer's market ~ Fresh fruit, fresh veggies, fresh pie...oh my! With the harvest in full swing, October is a great time to visit your local farmer's market.  Take advantage of the seasonal fruits and vegetables to create some healthy, organic meals.

4. Visit a pumpkin patch ~ With Thanksgiving and Halloween to celebrate, pumpkins are a must during the month of October!  Picking out a unique pumpkin from a patch is a fun activity for all ages.  What's more, most places offer other enjoyable activities such as hay rides, mazes, and zoo visits, as well as, fresh food made on the premise.  Plan accordingly and make a day out of your visit!

5. Jump in a pile of leaves ~ Although there is much yard work to do once the leaves start falling, there is also much fun to be had!  Take a break from the yard chores, be a kid again (or call your kids along, if you have any) and have some fun playing in the leaves!

6. Sweater season ~ Fall calls for cozy knits!  Indulge in a little shopping, and pick out your favourite trends of the season to help keep you warm!

7. Update your look ~ With fall comes darker tones in the hair and makeup world.  Consider switching up your lighter locks for a darker shade, and switch out the softer lip colours for deeper tones such as crimson red, burgundy, or maroon.

8. Get crafty! ~ With the holidays and seasonal change in October, there are ample opportunities to create some interesting crafts.  Consider designing a beautiful centerpiece for Thanksgiving, painting a picture of the colours of fall, or decorating a pumpkin!

9. Watch a Halloween inspired movie ~ Whether you're into light humor, or something super scary, grab some popcorn and tune into your favorite Halloween inspired film to help get into the holiday spirit!

10. Get costume ready ~  Have some fun with this - just think, for one day, you can be anyone/thing you want to be!  Whether you're taking kids trick-or-treating, handing out candy, or attending a Halloween soiree, put in some effort and look the part! ;)
